The Clay

by May Lee   Feb 28, 2006

Like birds in the air
or fish in the sea
we're endlessly searching
for where we should be

carelessly, constantly
chipping away
at our ownselves
like mounds of clay

In search for ourselves
theres no time to reflect
on what we've created
the clay we neglect

to see where we started
and then at the now
we question ourselves
at just what we allowed

A great comparison, very thoughtful. I also thought the third stanza was the best, amazing job. I look forward to seeing more work from you.

The imagery you evoke in this is beautiful.

    In search for ourselves
    theres no time to reflect
    on what we've created
    the clay we neglect

that sums up what most of us do with life really well.
