Half-Alive

So tired of playing
Games on delay
So tired of doing
What Others Say
My heart is hanging
On needles and threads
Mindlessly waiting
For the day I'm dead

Killing me from inside out
Never who I use to be
Darkness swims all about
Taking to the next degree
My flesh burns every time
When I bow to my foes
Freedom has never been mine
To chains I didn't know

Half-alive, in this world
A ghost of pain and tears
Into the sky, I am hurled
Visions of death appears
I cannot, will not live unless
I become the real me
My future will be boundless
Flying, I will be free

They cannot hold me back
They cannot bring me down
Though self-confidence I lack
I'll fight till in fire I drown
I will rise up to every wall
Break open opposing stones
Rejecting other's call
I will always stand alone

No longer am I half-alive
No longer do I bleed
In water and fire, I'll survive
I'm done with other deeds
I will fly, I will soar upon stars
Never looking back again
I will reach my soul far
And be Who I really AM!
