The Man You Fear ...

by Lying To Live   Apr 24, 2006

In the nest room
Is the man that you fear
You sob quietly
Making sure he cannot hear

He hit you hard
Worse then before
You get up quickly
And close the door

You cannot justify
The things he does
The way he pushes you
The way he shoves

He makes you cry
Yourself to sleep at night
Every time he comes home
And his mood isnt right

He has no control
Like his body is under attack
He lifts his fist
And after that everything goes black

You wake up
To a throbbing head
When you look in a mirror
You look as if you should be dead

All black and blue
With a swelled up left eye
You cover all the pain with concealer
Cover all of your lies

You knock your arm
As you please the makeup on the shelf
It begins to bleed
Man it hurts like hell

The man that you fear
Is in the room next door
You pack your bags
You cant take it anymore

You walk right out
No smart remark for goodbye
Youre walking away from
Your life of lies

Wow..That almost made me cry. I couldn't imagine being hit like that. Stay strong. Did you really leave or do you want to? Just wondering. Stay strong! Great poem. And I love how it comes straight from the heart.
