The Rose

by Timothy S   Apr 24, 2006

Through hard times my beautiful flower has grown
Finding refuge through neglect and being disowned
Breaking through the ground that the time froze
Using each bit of sunshine, and holding its warmth
It's roots deeply planted in the soft soil below
On the surface, the petals, the thorns, slowly form
Taking shape like melting metals, beauty's being born
Took all emotions felt, making its life sworn
To stand out above it all, to be its own
Brandished beautiful, the rose
