Laugh Not, Love Not

by Kim   Apr 26, 2006

"Happily to meet you"
Sang the girl with a sparkle in her eye
The rumpled angry man just glared
and huffed as he shoved by

With a smile and a tilt of head
She danced along her way
Amongst the trees and gleaming eyes
Of friends who came to stay

Through her life she came to know
Many who loved and cared
And also she met those who shrugged
And left like she wasn't there

Those are the ones who never smile
Never dance and never laugh
Those are the ones who ignore the sun
And never leave the path

Those are the ones who will never love
or know what has past them by
And it's for people like those
That the girl would likely cry

For she knows what they do not
A lesson yet to learn
One she found out the hard way
Through hate and pain and burn

So with a smile and laughing voice
She sings a happy thought
Trying to warn those who leave
If you laugh not you love not

Amazing! I really like your writing. You have improved your writing so much! I bet you can look back on your old stuff, and see the huge difference! This was a really breath-taking poem. It was almost as if I were reading a story from a fairy-tale. Nice job!
