This One's for the Pain (revised)

by Once an Angel   Apr 29, 2006

I wrote this poem with another girl who I think is no longer on this site, her user-name was Linzer and she was a brilliant writer. She gave me this poem for my book, and I changed it a bit here for there to make it more universal, but both versions are still really brilliant.

This one's for the girl
who was betrayed by her best friend.
all because this boy got in the way,
and brought their long friendship's end.

This one's for the boy,
who will forever remain a fatherless son.
His father went to war to support his country,
and was shot by the enemy's unforgiving gun.

This is for anyone,
Who had a hard time getting through life.
Who was unable to cope with their sea of emotions,
And found their salvation in the arms of a knife.

This one's for the girl,
who fell hard for the wrong guy.
He took her body and her heart,
then left without saying good-bye.

This one's for the boy,
who desperately wishes to rewind the past.
His heart is yearning for the girl he loves,
Trapped back in a relationship that didn't last.

This one is for anyone,
who's every felt misunderstood and alone.
They cry at night when no one can hear,
deciding to suffer depression on their own.

This one's for the girl,
who decided she would not continue to eat.
She went for days without having any food,
to get the body that models showed as complete.

This is for the boy,
Who was the slower student in his grade.
Behind his back the other students mocked and scorned,
Oblivious to the scars their comments have made.

This is for anyone,
who's been laughed at and humiliated out of class.
Who now is utterly disgusted by their reflection,
feeling hideous in the sight of their looking glass.

This is for the girl,
Who didn’t want to play his little game.
She hated how he would touch her there,
And was left alone with eternal shame.

This one's for the boy.
who decided to quit going to school.
How he's sixteen and a drop out,
forever labeled by the world as a fool.

This one's for anyone,
who has a difficult time getting by.
They cannot seem to pay the bills,
with money always in short supply.

This one’s for the girl,
Who was only fifteen, yet still did conceived.
Her boyfriend had used her for a one-night stand,
And left her and her baby alone to silently grieve.

This one’s for the boy,
Who has no recollection of his biological family.
He has been a foster child since a year old,
And looks upon other children’s parents with envy.

This is for everyone,
Who struggles every day to stay alive.
As their bodies are being broken down by disease,
They know that through this night they won’t survive.

This one’s for the girl,
Who walked fatally off the edge of a cliff.
No one has stopped to notice her suffering,
And to remind her that her life was a gift.

This one's for the boy,
whose parents divorced and separated,
Their hatred for each other blinded them,
as the forgot about the child they created.

This one is for everyone,
Whose parents and them can’t seem to agree.
The arguing never seems to end between them,
Because they have lost ability to converse honestly.

This one's for the girl,
who thought drugs might ease her pain.
With each new kind she got addicted to,
her life dripped at bit more down the drain.

This one’s for the boy,
Who depended on alcohol as his coping crutch.
He drank and drank to drown away his hurt,
Not caring about the costs of drinking too much.

This one is for everyone.
who has trials and hardships in their life.
When timed get darkest please remember,
others feel your pain and share your strife.

This one actually made me get a little teary eyed. Its so true - and almost everyone can relate to. I know a few in there I feel are inside me. But, it was an excellent poem. The stanzas were great and the overall construction was brillant. You and your friend did an great job percieving the message!
