The dad I knew

by ShaunaMarie   May 2, 2006

Dad said he loved me,
But I think that he lied,
He gave me a hug,
And then said goodbye,
He said he would miss me,
And itd all be worth while,
He blew me a kiss,
But he missed by a mile,
Mom told me to forgive,
And then to forget,
And although I miss you,
I dont think weve met,
The father I knew,
Left years ago,
The years that have passed,
Were worthless and slow,
You said that you loved me,
You said that you cared,
But when I needed you most,
You just werent there,
Years are all gone,
And weeks have gone by,
You said youd come back,
But I know that you lied,
The dreams that Ive drempt,
Are painful as knives,
They try to repair,
Our separate lives,
The dad I wanted,
Is shredded and torn,
He stopped being dad,
The day I was born.
