Little Sammy

by ShaunaMarie   May 3, 2006

I do not speak of rainbows,
I do not speak of gold,
I just speak of what I think,
And what I have been told,

I may not be perfect,
But in this I do not lie,
Little Sammy has lung cancer,
And the truth is, soon shell die,

Little sammy has a wish,
She wants to spread her wings and fly,
She just doesnt understand,
You can do that when you die,

So for daddys last present,
He brings her up in his new plane,
She started to cry,
As she understood the name,

Dad named it, \"Little Sammy\",
She thanked him for this,
They went into the clouds,
He granted her a wish,

\"Its almost like Im flying\",
She said to her dad,
The next day she would die,
He would be so sad,

Morning comes back in the hospital,
She was lying on her bed,
She was about to go,
And this is what she said,

\"You named it Little Sammy,
I thank you for this,
Thanks for everything,
You granted me my wish\"

Then she slipped away,
One last breath of air,
Mom cried as she left,
But daddy was still there,

He sat and stared for a while,
He just couldnt let her go,
He didnt understand,
Why god could be so low,

he remembered her last words,
And walked of with a smile,
Just cause he remembered,
Hed see her in a while...

Tis peice is fantastic. the structure is perfect like in all your peaices and the rhymes and flow brilliantly composed. the plot is clear and well written.

1 point though i think there may be a slight typo in the 2nd to last line. other than that though brilliant peice, i esspessially like the ending as it gives a slight idea of hope in an otherwise very sad peice.
