Life At These Speeds

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   May 4, 2006

Memories fade into the distant past,
As her feet pound the warm asphalt.
Angry voices become faint whispers,
As she runs under the sun's warm rays.

Sweat glistens on her back,
Her feet echo in the peacefulness, music.
The rythmn of her heart fills her head,
As she concentrates on her pace.

She looks at the familiar surroundings,
Contemplating the beautiful scenery.
What had become so dull, so unfamiliar,
Finally found its breathtaking beauty.

Sun blaring at her back, peaceful.
Absorbing the scene's beauty,
She continues to set her pace,
Loving life at these speeds.

Absolutely stunning. I like the part

"What had become so dull, so unfamiliar,
    Finally found its breathtaking beauty."
Probably one of the best two lines, ever.
Thanks so much for your comment and everything.
