A Jolly Old Walk

by Bradley Peter   May 5, 2006

Whilst walking down the path
i saw something up ahead
it appeared to be a young girl
with a puddle of bloody red

i didn't want to believe it
i thought surly this can't be
a murdered child amongst us
how did no one happen to see

quickly i rushed towards her
and was filled with delight
to see it was just a little boy
with skin as dark as night

i continued with my morning
with a smile upon my face
knowing another negro
had be taken from this place

*before anyone decides to send me hate mail and calls me a racist, i just wanted to have a twist in the story, and like it or not, there are people out there like that. also, i am actually half black myself*

I love twists, there so unexpected and actually make you realise something, or at least make you think.
Good write, thank you for your comment and adding me to oyur favs.

Im returning the favour, not because you added me but because I've found another of the few very talented poets.

It was powerful....Yes there are people like that still...Very good for the twist. A very great poem that shows some of the ways that some people still think.

Okay Brad, I promise not to hate you. It certainly was a twist and it got me at first, so yes I was going to give you a piece of my mind, but after reading your commentary I forgive you. You're right. There are people like that. I'm glad you're not one. It's is a great poem though, all thoughts of racism or anything aside. Excellent!
