If Only

by Once an Angel   May 9, 2006

If only the sky was purple,
Instead of its sad old blue.
If only we could wear socks,
Uncovered by sweaty shoes.

If only we could live forever,
And then just a little bit more.
If only we could heal heartache,
And stop muscles from being sore.

If only we could change the world,
And put its pieces back together.
If only we could be sure of life,
So "if only" wouldn't last forever.

I know it is a pretty basic poem, but it has a really good message, so I wanted to post it. I was impacted upon re-reading it because I just wrote it for a thread of mini poems.

I really liked this poem. If only, people were happy enough with what they had and who they are. Good message.
