My Mask

by Cody   May 11, 2006

I put on my mask again
Everyone thinking I'm their friend
Yet despair pulls me down
I think I'm going to drown

My mask hides who I am from who I've become
This is something I'm sure you know of

I've lived a life based on lies
I am someone who you should despise
The real me watches and cries

Only I know the depth of my hate
a hate everyone helped to create
Consider me dead to you
I will be leaving soon

Some should consider this my goodbye
Other realize this is simply how I will die

This poem had a good meaning, and it had a lot of rhyming, and such..But the format and flow was a little off, because the structure of the poem was always changing.

It was 4 and then 2 and yeah.

    Nice poem.

Short, sweet and full of truth.

I know what having a mask is like and I know those feelings inside and out, ^___^ well done, this is well written and very well stated =]
