Killing Me, Softly

by ŦōüċhÌήğ ỀνĬĽ   May 19, 2006

I thought I could change the words on your lips
From slipping into your dungeon of locked up lies
Empty promises leaked from your fingertips
Your kiss spilled the secrets your smile tries to hide.

I gave you a chance to prove me wrong
Ignoring the screams of disapproval in my mind
Let go of all the reasons that kept me strong
Leaving your mistake-filled past behind

You tried so hard & you tore my wall apart
Breaking the innocence with your greed
Then filling up my emptiness with your black heart
Pierced my perfect perception and watched me bleed

The tears can drown out the pain
But the memories will be stained on my shattered heart
Like a puzzle that no one cares to put back together
Because so many times...its been torn apart

I let myself be used
And I fell into your words of fake affection
Now you can just leave me here, broken and bruised
Cause I'm just another girl, to add to your collection.
