Winters Cold

Snowflakes on my eyelashes
A heartless frozen blow
I did bestow upon my friend
My aim was far too low

Icicles hung from my words
That I spoke unto you
When telling you I was with him
It hurt but it was true

Frosted eyes that cannot see
The first blossom in spring
Of crimson red come from your heart
But no sunshine did it bring

This flower, oh so delicate
That bloomed from your despair
Was dripping with sorrowful blood
Unknowing, I did not care

When everything is washed with white
The red blood and blue tears
Stand out oh so vividly
Against our simple fears

Be strong, be friends, be summers warmth
But don’t let blood run hot
However if hurt you I do
Then forgive me not

    I loved this poem..The last stanza the second to last line got me a bit confused, but maybe I just read it wrong! I don't know, but all together it was a great poem very very sweet, the imagery was perfect!!

    I like it. The only thing I think you need to fix up is this part:

    Be strong, be friends, be summers warmth
    But don't let blood run hot
    However if hurt you I do
    Then forgive me not

    The last line seems a wee bit too short. It just sounds wierd when you read it.

    This is a great piece though. Keep it up. I would add you to my favorites list but you have been on here ever since I created this account about a year ago. :)

    Wonderful poem! I loved you stanza, you're such a great writer!

    ^^I thought that was a wonderful ending line. It was meaningful and it made a good point (at least to me) great job. 5/5
