Lady Luck

by Kim   May 21, 2006

Lady Luck, she dresses in drag
Heavy mascara smeared by the rain
Carrying coins in her tattered old bag
Dispensing chance with profitable gain

Her bright lipstick is a little too tilted
Her heels just a little too high
Her speech is a little too stilted
And most people would rather walk by

Yet she smiles with eyes of pure glee
And gives luck to those who care
She holds, to fortune, the key
For those who'll acknowledge she's there

Lady Luck, she dresses in drag
And only the compassionate notice her going
Wearing a dress, starting to sag
Most people walk by without knowing

Kim, I LOVE YOUR WRITING!!! This poem is excellent, I love how seamlessly it flows and how it doesn't appear to be very deep...it's kind of light-hearted in nature, yet every word is key. The characterisation is great. I give it seven loud BOLOGNAS out of 5.
