A Shadow of Life

by Kim   May 21, 2006

Sifting shadows bathe the forest floor
In a swathe of darkness
Hiding the disaster of a preoccupied god
From his blind subjects
The veils of night make the faithful tremble
Afraid to set foot on such a forsaken path
Paranoid, taught to fear and hate such a journey
Through the fading light

Such a common misconception heightened by blind faith,
The shadows dance through the leaves to death's music
And the wise know that such is not the path to eternal darkness
But rather the journey which will lead to the beauty of life,
For only in the darkness can one see the stars

The word choice in this was great aswell. But, The flow seemed abit rocky.. It was still a great poem though. I liked the last stanza alot too. speshly this line: "The shadows dance through the leaves to death's music" =) Keep it up! 5/5

Woah... Deep, beautifully written and filled with perfect illustrations. My fav line; For only in the darkness can one see the stars... Blew me away. What a perfect ending to a perfectly written poem! I shall go and ponder now :)
