Inside my heart
there is this gloom
it cuts and bites
it weeps and waits

This soul is hungry
it's starving for love
longing for mercy
yearning for a hug

My tongue cries out
God, I'm all alone
point me to humanity
I need someone to hold

I give you all possessions
my beauty and my word
I'll shed this skin to bareness
for your grace to consume my soul

And if your love were a bullet hole
I'd embrace it's impending doom
and bleed like a warrior
as I fall asleep with you
