Pray

by Bill Turner   May 28, 2006

Whisky bottle in my rigid hand
Feet wrapped in dirty rags
Tattered suit hanging from my frame
People walk on past without a care
Looking at them with my million mile stare

Unaware of the date, time or year
Lost forever in that day
Time standing forever still for me
While my body ages without grace
Only memory that of your face

No reason should I be alive
Having lost your love from my life
Unable to cry another tear
Soul forever lost without you
Missing all the things you do

This is my prayer to the lord
Please do not take her from my life
For this is what awaits me tomorrow
Should you take her from me today
Please let her love me and forever stay
