What You Don't See

What you don't see
Is the tears
Hidden behind those eyes;
The light in them
Which long ago has died

What you don't see
Is the scars
Concealed within that heart;
The lies
Slowly tearing her apart

What you don't see
Is the pain
Engraved upon that soul;
The darkness
The light, they have stole

What they don't see
Is the love
That she has meant for them
What they don't see
Is that it does hurt
To harm her in return

You see the cheerful face
That innocent blissful smile
Saying everything will be fine
Her sentiments over the days
Don't seem to change
With a beam her face will shine

That's what you see
And believe it too
It's what you don't see
That's the complete truth

Try a peek behind the disguise
A glance onto reality
That's when you may realise
It is- what you don't see...
