Tainted Eyes

by Kim   Jun 5, 2006

Darkness of the deepest kind
With roots of hatred and fear
Have flowered into choking vines
That around the souls of the
Innocent twine

Fertile ground have these atrocities found
The unplanted naivety of youth
In their hearts the leaves spiral down
Basking in the angry light

Connected by carnal ties
These malicious creatures take root
Flooding mouths with putrid lies
Leaving raped souls
With tainted eyes

Aight Kim...I have already commented but lets see if I can critique...now remember it is hard enough for me to write my poems, let alone critique your talent..but I will surely try my best!

The imagery created is very vivid and deeply thought provoking. The words used highlight the dark feel of this poem...oh wow this is hard...lol

I like the flow as it is undisturbed the olny thing I can think of even though it doesn't disturb the flow your second stanza has less lines than the other 2.

1ST stanza...maybe use patterned instead of flowered (although depending on what imagery you want to project).

    And the 3rd stanza...you have
    Leaving raped souls
    With tainted eyes

to match the first line maybe it would match up more if you were to have it read:
    Leaving raped souls with
    Tainted eyes

Hopefully Ihave helped or at least sparked ideas that were unthought of before.
It is really hard to critique perfection!!!
    Awesome write!

Wow, Kim! This was such an amazing write. You really scared me with this one. Sent goosebumps down my spine. Good job, ended it nicely.
