Just a Lick of Paint

by Jemma   Jun 6, 2006

A lick of paint and it feels like new
You can't see the cracks; I'll forget they're even there

Each time I look there's another, thin streaks streaming up the wall
How many times must I wipe the surface clean?
How many times will I try and forget they're even there?

I guess I take my fair share, maybe even more
But its better that its me; I can cope with pain
I may be showing cracks but I'm not breaking all the same

He come home and admires my efforts
Never comments that he'll hit the wall again
Never mentions that I'll be thrown into it again
Never crosses his mind that I'll be painting again

Just a lick of paint and I feel like new
You can't see the cracks and I'll forget they're even there

**wasn't sure where to out this**

Oh wow, this was very deep; & a very powerful ending ! You did a great job showing your emotions the whole way through, keep your chin up girly, and if you ever need to talk i'm always here, i like to listen :) 5/5
