Nan

Nan you was like a mum to me,
You looked after me when times were bad,
I know you still up there looking out for me,
But when I saw you in that little box being carried away,
My feelings started to build up in me,
I never cried at first,
But then I saw you in your little box being carried away into a fiery mass,
I then realized you was gone,
Tears stream down my face as I try to reach out for you,
My arms stretch out but held back by family,
Never to return,
Never to see your face again,
Never to feel your warm hugs,
Never to have you in my life,
All I have are memories,
My last memory of you is holding your hand tight in hospital not wanting to let you go as you slip into an internal sleep,
But memories fade,
My world starts to fall apart,
I look at the seat you used to sit in,
I look at the photos of you,
I try so hard to remember,
But all seems to have been lost,
I want you here with me,
I need you here with me to keep me strong,
I try to stay strong for your sake as I know thats what you would want,
But I miss you so,
I know it has been long now since you went,
But I still sit in the corner of my room and weep,
I never wanted you to go like that,
I miss you so,
Nan you was like a mum to me,
You looked after me when times were bad,
Thank you for the time I shared with you,
Im just grateful for that.
