I am the one who

by Meme   Jun 17, 2006

I am the one whom you cuddled 17 years ago
I am the one who counted you as my guardian
I am the one who woke up everyday to see you
I am the one who ran to open the door for you
I am the one who used to hide under your bed
I am the one who sat on your lap and watched TV
I am the one who played hide and seek with you
I am the one who thought you'd always be next door
I am the one who was shocked when you decided to go
I am the one who waved my hand saying good-bye

In this one it is more like a memory from being a young child and the language really conveys that and the thoughts they are having.

i am assuming the realtionship is more of a parent or family member? Such a sad thought as your ending line gives the image of a very small child waving goodbye to someone the adore, like a mother figure or father, and having no idea they arent coming back or just how hard life will be without them.

    Powerful work
