Beautiful Reflections

by LadyPearl   Jun 19, 2006

Complicated life, revolving around hair
Knots and tangles pertruding everywhere
A know-it-all mirror awaits from the wall
In a mysterious song, to me it calls

The mirror shows what lies inside not out
Giving me courage when I am in doubt
Showing me as a swan, not a duckling
Knowing I'm beautiful, not at all ugly

Puzzling decisions between family and friends
The glass shows me who to defend
It shows who I am and what my heart cries
Seeing through secret deceptions and lies

When teary eyes come weeping in Pain
My reflections shows that the answer is plain
No matter how my tears try to destroy me
I am still me and that's the way it'll always be

Very nice, clean write. I liked the symbolism of the know-it-all mirror, and what it could portray.

Nicely done. I liked the moral of the poem / the reflection it shows... confidence is something that everyone needs... you have to believe in yourself if you want others to believe in you. Good write. 5/5
