I've Come to You

by Hilary   Jun 20, 2006

My arms are reaching out to You,
My Father in the sky...
Praying that You'll send Your angels,
To wipe the tears he cries.
I know the pain that he feels,
Deep inside his frightened heart...
Watching the man that he calls dad,
Slowly fall apart.
One day he will be smiling,
The next he is so weak...
As his loved ones step back,
To find the strength to speak.
They knew it was inevitable,
The day he'd say goodbye...
But it doesn't soften the anguish,
Or stop the tears from falling from their eyes.
I've stepped forward, to give my comfort,
But it's all that I can do...
I feel so very helpless, Father,
That's why I've come to You.
He wants to see us marry,
To stand right by his side...
To see the smile on my love's face,
To watch me as the bride.
I know his time to be called Home,
Was predestined to be...
But won't You help me out, Father?
Do a simple favor for me.
Hold them in Your arms, Father,
Through these hard and trying days...
Listen to their endless prayers,
Take the pain away.
Give them the strength they need -
The strength to survive...
To know inside their grieving hearts,
That, in spirit, he'll always be alive.
I hate seeing the one I love,
Struggling to make it through...
My heart is breaking along with his,
That's why I've come to You.
