Addiction

by Crossiance   Jun 21, 2006

Though the demon is gone
The craving is still fresh
The touch of a blade
Against my flesh...

The greatest motivation
For my most hated regret..
My addiction so strong
That I could never forget...

The insanity I live with
though faded to black
has left an invisible ache
For the thing that I lack

A desire so strong
For the unbearable hurt
While obtaining the knowledge
That with death, I flirt..

The being deep within me
That seeks my destruction
Throwing temptations my way
With enticing seduction..

How long I can last
Resisting its snare
My chances, you see..
Are thinner than air
