Silence

by arunima gautam   Jun 25, 2006

Silence the one between me and you, the only distance left to travel,
Itâ??s where we belong, its mundane still serene,
As we slowly stroll along the beach, over the sand and gravel,
This silence feels so empty still a shrieking echo within.

I look into your eyes. Feels like they have something to say,
I try to smile but never have felt such strain in that.
The sun sets as the dying light for the darkness paves the way,
I feel so restrained inside for this moment is never coming back.

Is this unfinished silence, this infinite pause is what our story meant to be,
What is it that keeps us so restrained? I try to figure deep within.
And only then my hand touches yours accidentally,
We both are still for one second, and start to walk again.

This is not how itâ??s supposed to be,
This lonely silence will not provide any answers to me,
I have to take that one step, one faithful leap in eternity,
And I turn to you; hold your hand against my chest and pull you close.

Your face this close I have never seen, the city lights in your backdrop,
The silence still not broken, but I feel your arms coming behind me,
Slowly I feel your lips touching mine, never want you to stop,
This silent moment is the life of mine, one I wanted to live since ages!

This silence now seems fine; the touch of embers in our passion burns me,
The ocean behind us, the witness to our silence, is so silent itself,
So reclusive to the world outside, we never needed any words in between,
The kiss, the touch, we are so into it, in the sensual rhyme slowly we do delve.

This silence means so much now, its filled with an untold story,
You look deep in my eyes and take me in your arms,
This story unfolds only now, slowly and slowly.

We walk beneath the moonlight; the silence still remains in between,
What I donâ??t realize, this silence says it all, be all what we need to be,
The songs of a love held so deep in our hearts, this silence sings it all the time,
In it I have surrendered everything; my love is embraced in this silence of mine.
