An infinite mile

by arunima gautam   Aug 20, 2006

A solemn dream and I land beneath its wonder,
Your silent, soft smile running through my veins.
In the depth of the imprints you left in my memories,
All but a fading hint of your presence remains.

Sweet and sour sighs so unheard and so less cried,
Wonder what little of that magnanimous is left.
Was there something I left untried?
A profound tide it was, a little ripple the fate it met.

A thunderous surrender, such illusion it portends,
An acceptance that's still not felt entirely.
A whispering farewell, my lost soul pretends,
Convulsing in its present to what its come to be?

These dreams might seem like a white cloud passing me by,
While I try to hold its essence into me.
Only reflections, no recollections of a past that used to be,
Walking through this abyss, trudging slowly this infinite mile...!
