Upon Reflection

by Once an Angel   Jun 27, 2006

I've long wandered and searched,
The dark shrouded caverns of my head.
Waging wars upon my internal monsters,
And powerful bouts of desiring to be dead.

I've drown in the shadowed nightmares,
Planted by demons to torture my mind.
Testing the boundaries of my soul,
With the sick games they have designed.

I've been lost within my struggle,
Oblivious to the outside realms of light.
Demented and destroyed by blind repression,
Delving deeper into myself, my vain flight.

Then the moment came upon me,
As I arrived at the point of no return.
It was time for me to slip into the blackness,
And embrace the pain of hell fire's burn.

A sudden power awoke, erupting in me,
And I surged with a strength I didn't know.
A passionate fury of certainly flowed,
And I was determined that I would not go.

I remained living, and am still to this very day,
Though I'll always carry permit marks of my fight.
I look upon the scars, burns, and tainted memories,
Understanding they're the past, and I can be alright.

Eleesa, this poem was very very deep!! I had my own view of this, and my own message. That is one thing that is great about your poetry, you write one thing down, and so many people interpret it differently, and everyone is able to understand. It's like a universal language. Amazing stuff!

Aww! I loved this poem!!!!! I can really relate with how you said that you were seeing the blackness and thought you were going to fall into it, but then you fought it and made it through! I love how your words flowed and I only wish I could write like you! Great job, and hang in there! Much love to you!
