The Box

by Sarah   Jun 28, 2006

I prepared myself to see it,
Not knowing how that would go.
But I held it like it was something special,
and I rocked it to and fro.

So it sat in that dark room,
for months and months on end.
I\'m so sorry babe,
I guess we were trying to comprehend.

Surrounded by others,
hard for their families to gage,
of course people sad too,
but they were not your young age.

It looks like a parcel id mail to a friend,
Display the address nice and neat,
Apply the proper postage,
though this parcel Id hate to greet.

The parcel now sits on a shelf,
behind a photo of the most beautiful boy.
Now you must know,
that this box brings us no joy.

So I went to your final resting place,
it as nice as I guess it could be.
And i know that one day in the future,
right beside will contain me.

This box contains the love of my life,
it holds my very best friend,
so we will bury you a year to the day,
one last service for you, we\'ll attend.
