Masquerade

by arunima gautam   Jul 6, 2006

The sun rays gets through me as I open the curtains,
The light falls upon your face, you still drowned under the surface,
Of a world all drenched in your secret dreams,
The story about me your heart contains.

It's a late night masquerade, I love to undress; it's your secrets, that in your soul regress;
To such sorrow depths you fail them to find,
For you only I'm one of a kind,

You need not speak, for your face tells it all,
You seem to be such a hard soul, but in the nights- before my shadows, your giant falls!
You are a child in dire need, the one in total surrender,
You merge inside of me in awestruck wonder!

The late night masquerade I only know to uncover,
I listen to the rushed heartbeat slow down in my arms,
You may rule the whole world, but the truth is this,
Through me, beyond my power, you are not even close to being strong!

Your lips so distant to mine when the whole world stares you,
But I feel the taste of them; they are all into me,
Crimson and soft when I see them smile,
Burning embers in the night, I'm all burnt by their touch deep inside.

The late night masquerade, I know these lips were a witness of,
Eyes so drenched with a wet grace, heart all tired in a desire to keep pace,
I am soaked in a rainbow of emotions, desperate to defeat you in this race...

In the late night masquerade, that just somehow doesn't surface as the morning awaits!
