With the sun in your eyes

by Josh   Jul 7, 2006

Many's the time I've walked this rainy road
Alone, but content with solitude
Many's the the reason I've walked through this town.
Peeking in every empty window.

As the wind chimes through late autumn days.
I've been waiting for you to wake up.
Watching the birds climb the swallowing sky
Peeking through every open window.

And I won't let you go
I beg of you, just let me stay
a little longer in this warm place
where my heart doesen't care
where my heart can still fly
where my world isn't crumbling
Just let me stay.

Call me if you ever need a friend again
I'll still be sitting here, waiting for you.
Just ask, and I'll forgive you again.
Come knock on my door with the sun in your eyes.

This is a really cute poem, I think everyone has felt this way about another person before. I enjoy your work, keep it coming!
