You were my life

by David Marshall   Jul 13, 2006

I crossed my heart,
and purified my thoughts.

I cared for you,
and relinquished my regrets.

I held back my anger,
and cached my sorrow.

I forgot the pain,
and forgave your mistakes.

I protected you,
and risked myself.

I gave up my pride,
just to be with you.

I gave up my heart,
and gave it to you.

You lied to me,
when I told you the truth.

You didn't care,
when I opened out to you.

You neglected me,
when I said I loved you.

Your words were fictitious,
when mine came from the heart.

Your love was propaganda,
when mine consumed my soul.

Your presence was doubt,
when mine was to be with you.

Your eyes see right through me,
when mine look straight into yours.

You were my life,
but you didn't care.

this poem is for every girl who doesn't appreciate what they have..for every girl who actually had some one that loved them, but didn't realize that its the best thing to have. girls...if some one loves you...and they let you know it..treasure it please...and for god sake...care, cause nothing hurts more than loving some one that doesn't even appreciate it.
