My Loathed Love

by Kara !   Jul 17, 2006

I hate your earnest smile
And despise your robust laugh
I detest the way you look at me
With love brimming in your heart

I loathe your lustrous eyes
And tousled hair so fair
My insides writhe with fury
When I know that you are there

You wrap your arms so gently
Round my waist when we do kiss
You pull me that little closer
And I shudder from the bliss

You'll never steal my freedom
I see your promises are real
But when you give me adulation
I can't stand the way I feel

I hate that I am powerless
My facade you see right through
But what I hate the most

Is I'm truly in love with you.

You need to change that first stanza. The way the whole thing is rhymed just makes it seem like it's part of a different poem. Otherwise this is brimming with passion and vitriol, and is evocative of emotions I have experienced which makes it easy to visualize.
