Take Me Away...

*Before you read this, you have to know I was sitting on a rock watching the sunset in San Diego watching waves crash to the shore..and it was the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. Also, in this poem, Horizon = God. Thanks! :)*

The waves crash down upon the rocks resembling my inconsistent breathing.
How can something so dangerous be that unbelievably beautiful?
The feeling of the wave encompassing every inch of me, taking all of me in, lasts for only a moment, and then it releases me.
Just like everything else in my life...
One second it's there, then it slowly slips away, dissolving into salty, bitter, but still BEAUTIFUL memories of the the girl i used to be.
The thrill of the waves bring out that girl once more.
I look far, far beyond the unreachable horizon, and wonder how all the beauty still holds so much sadness.
The constant rhythem of the waves sloshing into shore never changes.
They never miss a beat or come in one second late.
Yet, each one is origonal in its own, special way.
But, they still look empty to me.
Am I doomed to forever be like a wave?
Never different, always the same, afraid to be different and explore life as it's meant to be lived?
Is my heart stuck sloshing around in its cage, never finding something to hold onto, never breaking free from it's lonely solitude?
Is this how I want to live?
Always searching for something more, something i'll never find?
I look a that waves and realize I'm one of them.
This is where I'm meant to be.
And i'll NEVER stop reaching for the unreachable...
The horizon is the only th ing that awaits me,
It's the only thing that won't leave me like everything else...
It's my HOME.
