Shooting Star

by Timothy S   Jul 25, 2006

Teenage love is a shooting star in a summer night sky
One we wish to stay in forever, so we pry at every light
Each glimpse of hope that the star might shoot again
But we reminisce on the past, even if it were in sin
Everything felt so right, but into the blackness it went
It went so fast and left us empty handed with no defense
The hopeless romantics together, just for a second
Not even a grain of sand in the hourglass time
The shooting star fades in the life, leaving us crying
Wishing we could find a way to go back to that time
