Why Do You Love Them??

I Don't Know If This Deserves To Be In Poems About Life But Hey Oh Well Here It Goes:

Why do certain people make you hurt so much?
But why do you still long for there touch?
And why do you still long for their love and trust?

No matter how abusive they are...
Or mean they are to you...
You still go back for more...

How could you go on living like this..?
Isn't there a breaking point somewhere down the line..?
And arn't you just wasting your time?

How can you love someone that doesn't love you back...
You can't love unless you trust that person...
So how can you trust someone who's lied and cheated on you..?

Wouldn't that make you lose there trust..?
I know I wouldn't be able to love without the trust...
But why do people still love them..?

    This was one of the things i never understood, until i read a book called 'a child called it' by dave pelzer, its a real life story about how he was abused by his mother, and yet he still loved her because he believed that she abused him because he was bad and he put up with it because he convinced himself that she would change.

    hope is a powerful thing.
