My Life. I Call My Own.

by Abby   Jul 28, 2006

Life's about a hell of a lot more than being happy. It's about feeling the full range of stuff: happiness, sadness, anger, grief, love, hate. If you try to shut one of those off, you shut them all off. I don't want to be happy. I know I won't live happily ever after. I want more than that, something richer. I want to go right up close to the beauty and the ugliness. I want to see it all, know it all, feel it all, understand it all. The richness and the poverty, the joy and the cruelty, the sweetness and the sadness.
That's the best way I can honour my friends that died. That's the best way I can lead a life I can be proud to call my own.

Awesome job, abby!!!! you're a great writer!!!
but hey, i wanted to update you on something. you might not remember, but you left a comment on my poem "dedicated to shady". well, guess what? he didn't turn out to be my knight in shining armor after all. it turns out that he was just using me to get closer to me best friend whom he had "loved" since seventh grade. isn't that shallow? needless to say, i dumped him as soon as i figured it out. lol it was pretty obvious after a while though. when she was around, it was like i didn't exist. pretty big clueif you ask me!! but yeah, just thought i'd let you know, and give you a piece of friendly advice. never fall in love with someone before finding out if their heart truly lies in yours.
