Some Goals Set Us

by Ed or Ian Henderson   Aug 1, 2006

Some goals set us,
Rather than the reverse.
We are wisdom born of application.
We clamour for inspiration.
So let's send spies to trust,
Warping lexicons of time.
Hollow the drums out for dissent.
Skin them from those who repent.

Trace out history,
On tabloid or broadsheet.
Bring Rapture for each generation,
But the signal is far off station.
The print your finger smears,
A thousand ancestors did abide,
A thousand witches did repent,
Innocents to Hell were sent.

Sterilize adversity,
Beg of future's certain ease.
Be warmed beside binary fire,
Nature Darwin ascertained a liar.
Some goals set us,
Divining for the divine.
Carry all of your bricks in one hod.
Your life's strength will show you God.

I know you don't like me explaining myself, but... hehe! ;-)

This is essentially my ode to the spiritual nature of every individual on Earth, from the hardcore atheist to the Pope himself, from Koresh to bin Laden.

God and I have a great relationship, and I will never let religion spoil that.
