Hush little girl

by Bianca   Aug 4, 2006

I thought if I could overcome my fears
It would relieve the pain...
Meaning no more tears...

My day begins with swelling eyes
From the tears that sang me to sleep
Lullabies they sing
Hush little girl, one day it'll be okay,
The hurt and the anger will decay
Like your bones
Threatened by the disease
Man calls sickle cell anemia
Hush little girl, one day it'll be okay,
The hurt and the anger will decay
Like the rock that was once your family
But now you have two
And neither of them gives a damn
Hush little girl, one day it'll be okay,
The hurt and the anger will decay
Like your strength
Physically, mentally, and now emotionally
Bittersweet reassurance to mind
How can things get worse?
My tears sing to me
It soothes me
It preaches while teaching me
To love myself
Because no one ever will
