Just Me

by twisted reality   Aug 15, 2006

What does she possess that I do not?
Is it the most perfectly shaped body that she's got?
Or those tiny shirts she fits into just barely?
Those are the things that really do scare me.

I could be like her one day,
With her smile and her flirty "Hey!"
The perfect blond hair that flows down her back,
Compared to mine-old, ratty and just past my neck.

You got caught just like the last,
From her turning ways, just for a blast.
I don't believe you see,
The monster she's come to be.

Yes, I could be like her,
Like a complete and total jerk.
Instead, I am just me,
Just as normal as you see.

I want my body to look like hers,
But if that's what makes her and I differ,
Then just let me be,
So you can see,
That it's all for you,
And my feelings too.
But I shouldn't have to be,
Everything you want to see.

I should just have to be me.

As always, another great read! Your poetry flows as beautifully as any grand song. I absolutely love how meaningful your poems are, not just how grandly structured they look. It's always a pleasure when you find poets as amazing as you. Keep it up!

The title of the poem was not as good as I think it could be. But that is just my opinion. This poem had a very deep meaning and I can totally understand what you are trying to say. A lot of people compare themselves to other people, but really we don't need to. We are just as God made us, so we shouldnt need to change ourself. Good job with these poems!
