And The Mirror Was Broken

by Vic   Aug 17, 2006

The view across from me
Familiar yet different.
The room that's seen destruction
From a creature hell sent.

I look upon the aftermath
From a safe enough haven.
Still trembling from fear
Nightmare scarier than Wes Craven's.

The creature looks around
For more things to destroy.
I'm hoping, just praying
He won't find this boy.

His eyes gleam red
As he yearns to break.
His roar so deafening
The house starts to quake.

I stood there quivering,
Staring horridly in shock.
I knew I should run
But my knees wouldn't unlock.

The creature looked up
And I met his gaze.
I could already feel
His terrifying ways.

He took one step forward
I couldn't help but follow.
My insides turned cold,
My body felt hollow.

His eyes blank delight.
I stood panic-stricken.
His claws lunged at me...
