Unshed Tears

by Quiet Rejection   Aug 19, 2006

Her eyes sparkle with unshed tears
From the many lies that scar her heart
From the truth that tore her to pieces
From the world that tore her apart
She has to be strong and hold it in
She can't let them know she's hurt
She has to pretend she's okay
She can't let them treat her like dirt
Her unshed tears glimmer in her eyes
Like the words that once rang true
She won't let her tears fall
She promised she wouldn't cry over you
So her eyes hold eternal sadness
Forever cursed to hold her tears
To hold in all that she feels
Eternally sad for countless years
To hold in her broken heart
So no one will see her pain
She will never let those tears fall
She will never feel the rain.

I love this poem, the first line was perfect, it really got my attention.

Her eyes sparkle with unshed tears,

I think I can relate a little to your poem. Sometimes I would like to stop pretending I'm okay, but I know that wouldn't work. It would feel good though.

    Nice poem. =)
