Fragile Like Glass

by Quiet Rejection   Sep 5, 2006

Once again I stand between these four walls
And once again everything crumbles and falls
I'm left alone behind this mask of stone
The silence closes in and I am left alone
Lingering in moment lost in yesteryear
Bringing to my eyes but a single tear
Lost in the moment waiting for bliss
When I escape there is nothing to miss

There's no one standing behind this closed door
My friends are the shadows lurking in the past
And try as I might to break through this ice
The truth is a lie as fragile as glass

Once again in the emptiness lingers my mind
I wonder if ignorance has made me blind
For the walls surrounding my body burn down
Standing in the middle I feel like a clown
These walls serve as cages to me
The world passes so blindly
These four walls are not my home
Because in these four walls I'm still alone

There's no one standing behind this closed door
My friends are the shadows lurking in the past
And try as I might to break through this ice
The truth is a lie as fragile as glass
