The Waterside

by Austin   Aug 27, 2006

To me you're a stranger
Hidden under the foam of the waves
Coming from the ocean
Salty and wet
The water is to cold so I won't go in
I can't race for your heart anymore
But I can smell the liquor on the breathe
And I can taste the deceit on your lips
And lord knows how bad it is
To have you hold my heart
Because now it's soaked
You used it as a sponge to suck up your lies
And with an empty soul
And an empty shell
I carry around the baggage
Of your lust and tears
But never again will I whisper
My sweet lullabies in your ear
