Don't Look

by VioletRaven   Aug 28, 2006

Don't look to the future and tell me you can't see,
Don't glance to a past that seems make believe,
Don't hold onto dreams once they fade,
Don't look at me now, and ask why we're here,
...Just live in the moment, and let it sweep you away...

Once I could see the path in your eyes,
Once I held onto dreams that never die,
Once I had hope that shone from my heart,
Once I made promises that sparkled like stars,
...But now I have nothing, it means everything to me...

Sometimes we dream a future we can't live,
Sometimes we promise things we can't give,
Sometimes we wish for something we can never keep,
Sometimes it's hard to see the wonders before our eyes,
...Forever is a far away, don't waste Now waiting for "One Day"...

Nothing taken, that you would not give from the heart,
Nothing kept that means less than the souls worth,
Nowhere is a place that you can get to if you try,
No one is my name when dreamers laugh and poet's cry,
...Everything is worthless until truth finds your reflection, in mirror of your soul...
