Only love can stand in your way

I looked into the eyes of the man i loved
And he stared back in mine
This was my moment to break free
And my moment to shine

But i stood right there with him
Holding his hand
Not knowing what was to happen
Or where in life i stand

With him i felt that life was regular
And nothing new would come
That all my adventures had been discovered
The exciting things already done

But when i let go of his hand
My freedom became clear
There was more to life
Than what kept me here

A new life awaited me
And that jolted my spirit
I wanted to say "i'm leaving"
But he didn't want to hear it

I wanted to say "it's over"
But his eyes begged me no
So what lies outside this place
I may never know

But that's the price that one must pay
When only love can stand in your way

this isn't about me. . .it's about someone in my family. . .she loves this guy so much! she puts all she has into their relationship and all he can do is push her aside and not pay any attention to her, all i feel he wants her for is a housewife. ..any suggestions for her? she won't listen to me so maybe she'll listen to someone OUTSIDE the box. . .thanks for reading! probably not my best one but definately not my worst lol
