What Comes After

by stargirl49   Sep 3, 2006

Spotlight galring down,
silence from all around.
The trial is just ending.

She trembles,
looking up to the Great White Throne
where the Judge sits.
His decsion made,
the sentenced closed.
The ringing Voice of the
Maker sounds throughout the room.

The poor girl falls to her knees,
crying out, but all too late
for forgiveness.
"I didn't know that You were really real!!" she cried.
"If I had but known,
I would have lived a much better life." was her last pleading cry.
The Son of God looked sadly down,
with crystal tears
shimmering in His eyes.
"I'm sorry, but I never knew you.
Depart from My sight."

The girl cries out in utter agony
as Satan's shadowy minions
drag her away for all eternity.

Next in line stands
a popular rock star,
shaking in his expensive leather boots.
The Judge's decision is still the same.
His ringing Voice sounds
throughout the room.

The poor man stands
motionless in utter disbelief,
thinking his fate to be the same
as the illfated girl before him.
But the Son of God comes triumphantly forward.

"Wait, Father. This one is Mine. See how his sin is covered with My blood."

"How can this be?" asked the man.
His confusion rising, but remembrance dawning,
he dimly recalls a time
from his childhood
when he prayed a sincere prayer of salvation to the One and Only Son.
He had drifted away from the Son's path, but now his faith has been recalled.
The man looks up
to see the Son and Father
smiling down on him,
glad light shining forth
from Their holy faces.

Tears of joy and disbelief flow mingled down the saved man's cheeks as he realizes that this is real.

The angels' chorus rings out loud and true.
Another lost believer has been welcomed Home,

People on earth
glance fearfully
up to the sky
as they hear
the melodious trumpet blaring.
No one knows
the reason why
the heavens were opened wide that day.
And little do they know
that it will be their turn soon.
They live their lives
with not a thought
to what comes after.

Our job is to let them know
to live their lives
not for themselves,
but for God alone.
They don't have to listen,
we just have to tell.
Man must know of what's coming after.
We are accountable for every deed we do.

Live for Christ,
and your reward in Heaven you will receive.
Live for yourself,
and you will be given the eternal chance to find out how hot Hell is.

Fight the good fight
and receive the satisfaction
of fighting for the right reason,
the relief of fighting for God.
It only takes one simple declaration of faith.

So fight,
or be ashamed of yourself for all eternity.
