Twisted Logic

by Chris Rodriguez   Sep 5, 2006

You were under the impression
That good people would be rewarded
And that the world could keep on spinning
But things aren't quite that simple

You were taught to live freely
But the worlds shut all the gates
And now your stuck in square one
With nothing left but yourself

You were given false information
So when you turned your back
You were stabbed and left for dead
But you couldn't be killed that easily

It turns out everything was an illusion
You knew it all along
And the cracks in the cobblestones
They tell the real tale
Water, sweat, and tears flowed through
But none of the cracks were fixed
You've changed yourself but you learned
The world doesn't change with you

You were told to not take chances
Each day passed more beautiful faces
And you wouldn't let go of your rock
So you sank down to the bottom

Then she left you
And for what she didn't say
They've said before waiting will never pay
When a man tries to change
Sometimes it causes further pain
Last the grip going insane

Where did it go wrong?
Just tried to sing my own song
Getting past the uncertain dementia
Everything is so fragile and put in suspension

Realize it's only if you choose
You have everything to gain
And everything to lose
