I Must

I Must
By Letrice Hopkins

I must take some time now to repair my heart.
I must put back the pieces that were torn apart.

I put my heart in the palm of two many hands.
They were unclean or unworthy, their touch
My heart could not stand.

I must repair the pieces so that I can go on.
I need to feel whole again; I need to feel strong.

I must not let obstacles of any kind stand
In my way. I must restore my faith again,
So that I can truly pray.

I must stop dwelling on the hardship of my horrific past.
I must believe that some day soon I'll find true love
That'll last.

I must believe that one day the time will come
When I'll be laughing again. I'll be happy
And joyous, and I'll never cry again.

Ah. I hear the voice of your soul that refuses to go down.
    Chin up!
I know you have a strong will.
